Ireland

Job Type

Fixed Term (6 months)

Field Operations with some Office Work

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and certified (Open A2 minimum) Drone Pilot to carry out drone operations on various projects. Projects vary from aerial inspection of solar farms, wind farms, electricity pylons to aerial surveying (LiDAR & RGB) of sites across the country for a host of applications.

As a Drone Pilot, you should have a strong understanding of drone technology, excellent piloting skills, and the ability to analyse aerial data. This role is ideally suited to someone who has both experience collecting/flying drones and also some knowledge of processing aerial data. We are not a company who collects drone photography or video for creative purposes, but rather we use drones for technical applications and engineering surveys, so creative skills are not needed. Previous drone pilot experience is essential but full training will be provided for more complex operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate drones for aerial photography, videography, surveying, and inspections

  • Conduct pre-flight checks and ensure drones are in optimal working condition

  • Follow all EASA regulations and safety guidelines during drone operations

  • Plan flight paths and adjust them as necessary based on environmental conditions

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret aerial data for reporting and project needs

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met

  • Maintain detailed records of flights, including time, locations, and data collected

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drone equipment

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to drone operations

  • Ability to work alone and get the job done on time and in an efficient manner. Please note, as a drone pilot you will often be alone in the field so ability to manage your own time is essential.

Qualifications:

  • EASA-certified Remote Pilot or equivalent certification (Open A2 at a minimum)

  • Proven experience operating drones in various settings

  • Strong technical knowledge of drone systems and software (e.g., mapping and modelling software)

  • Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Location:

  • Based in Ireland with travel to various project sites across the country each week.

Contract Duration:

  • Full time fixed term (6 months)

  • This role is for an immediate start so the right candidate must be based in Ireland.

  • There is an opportunity to join on a permanent basis following the completion of the 6 month fixed term contract.

Salary:

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience.

Please note: Given the nature of the nationwide field work involved, a full clean drivers license is essential. Should you have your own vehicle, mileage and expenses are covered by GeoAerospace and if not, a company vehicle can also be provided for the right candidate.

How to Apply:

  • If you are interested in this opportunity, please send your C.V., along with a cover letter, detailing your relevant experience and qualifications to info@geoaerospace.com.
